RMC Ryniker-Morrison Gallery to host student exhibit Oct. 25 – Nov. 29

BILLINGS, October 11, 2018 – The Ryniker-Morrison Gallery will host its annual all-student juried art show Oct. 25 through Nov. 29, 2018. The opening reception will take place in the gallery on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. During the reception, you can enjoy appetizers, view artwork created by Rocky students, and meet the artists.

“It’s a truly unique, special feeling to work so hard on a piece and then learn that it will be displayed in a professional gallery,” said Marina Eshelman, an RMC junior art and business dual major whose work has been featured in past RMC student art shows. “It’s exhilarating to have this opportunity to share our work.”

A student jury will select artwork based on critical thinking, craftsmanship, composition, aesthetics, and finishing techniques. Each juror will also select a Juror’s Choice award that will be announced during the Oct. 25 opening reception. First, second, and third place overall winners will be announced at the opening reception.

“We encourage everyone in the Billings community to come out and support our student art show,” said RMC art professor Mark Moak. “This year, we’ll feature photography, drawing, painting, jewelry, and metalworking. Attending the opening reception will give folks the opportunity to meet and speak with our student artists and their teachers and enjoy some fine reception food. We look forward to seeing you there!”

The Ryniker-Morrison Gallery, located in Tech Hall on the RMC campus, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, except during College holidays.

High resolution images from the upcoming show are available on request. Please contact Helen Tolliver at framehut@framehut.com.
